The Company has four operating segments: domestic operations, international operations (including Canada), Greystone and Trinity. As of December 31, 2007, Sunrise operated 439 communities, including 402 communities in the United States, 12 communities in Canada, 17 communities in the United Kingdom and eight communities in Germany, with a total resident capacity of approximately 54,000. It owned or had an ownership interest in 261 of these communities and 178 were managed for third parties.
