The good:
Summer Fridays, decent - good pay depending on experience, promotes from within and they produce fun products to talk about.
The bad:
They make you wait 3 months before you are eligible for Health Insurance, and 6 months to apply for 401K.
Alloy puts on a wonderful face to the public but it is a different story internally. Leadership is very poor and it makes each person's role a challenge to define. They play every man for himself and there are no clear defined business rules to prevent co-workers from stealing glory from others (sales, accounts, recognition, promotions, etc).
Alloy does not have an open door policy and people have actually been let go due to providing too much feedback to management that they did not want to hear. I suppose some people can deal with that but it is odd to me that a Marketing company does not accept feedback from its employees.
I can't speak for every department but mine did not offer any training or support which made ramping up a challenge. There were also no communication on what was expected of me for MONTHS. I asked for feedback weekly from my direct manager and each week I was told that I was doing really well but that person could not tell me what else I needed to work on. In fact, my direct manager was often seen studying for grad school on a regular basis, but was not available to proactively support and lead the team.
Recently I was informed that I may be terminated due to performance, after literally being told the week before that I was doing a great job.
Since my time with Alloy, I have seen this same scenario occur with a handful of others. I knew after three months of working there that I had no job security. Alloy is a company that likes to hire and fire its employees. Everyone is replaceable to them and they really don't care to nurture and support the people who work for the company.
